Book Recommendations

by Josh Starkey on February 17, 2016

Here are the book recommendations you heard about in Danny's equipping class on Sunday. As we continue discussing the topic of "Is My Child a Christian," these books will hopefully come as some encouraging, joy-fuelling, fresh resources to help you disciple your kids. Check 'em out.

The Ology: Ancient Truths Ever New by Marty Machowski. This book explains deep theological truths held by the Christian church for centuries, with fresh explanations and super creative artwork. This is one of the newest of several really great teaching resources for parents to appear in the last year or so. Sovereign Grace Music also wrote an album of songs by the same title, both as an independent project, and also as a companion piece to this book. Check that out here (it's great too by the way). You can also find it on Spotify.

Big Truths for Young Hearts by Bruce Ware. Danny mentioned this as the go-to book for help in teaching some of the more weighty truths of God and Scripture to his kids (and to himself, so he said). Bruce Ware is an excellent writer and theologian, and this book has been recommended by many as an excellent resource.
