Summer Camp 2026 Recap

by Will Powell on July 01, 2026

I am very pleased to announce that we had a phenomenal time at Summer Camp this  year! It was a full house with our friends from Grace Rancho joining us for another year, as well  as Grace Church of Orange joining for the first time. This provided a wonderful time to not only  reconnect with old friends, but also to make new friends who are like-minded in the faith.

This week we had the wonderful opportunity to sit under the teaching of Brent Hisayasu as we studied the life of Daniel and saw that he was resolved to have an unshakable faith even in  the midst of great evil and suffering. Brent currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Redeemer  Church Ventura. The students were greatly impacted by the word of God and seeing the faithful life of Daniel, and what it means to truly live for Christ in a fallen world.

A large part of what made camp so special this year is the number of students that we  were able to bring. This would not be possible if it wasn’t for all of you who gave so generously to the fundraisers. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to all who gave. It was such an  encouragement to see the generosity and love that you all have, which would cause you to give  in such a way. Seeing you all give week after week was a great living example of 2 Corinthians  8:3-4 which states, “For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave  of their own accord, 4 begging us with much urging for the grace of sharing in the ministry to the  saints,” Thank you for not only giving generously but also demonstrating to the students what it  looks like to love the church body through generosity, and contributing to the ministry of the  saints, and this, truly beyond what we expected. Thank you.

While Camp is not defined by crazy games and Team Comp, it is definitely an important  aspect! This year we were blessed to have our amazing Games Crew from last year return and  oversee our games. They put in countless hours brainstorming, planning, and preparing for our  Team Games, Night Games, and Ice Breakers. Their efforts were made evident in the amazing  time we all had while playing wild games, like wrestling for watermelons, speed eating burgers,  chugging chocolate milk, having epic pool comp., sprinting around camp at night playing ‘puzzle  purge,’ and of course, playing the age-old game ‘Snottier Shooter.’

Thank you to all who have been faithfully praying for our students and the ministry. We ask for  your continued partnership in prayer, as many students are thoughtfully processing the gospel  truths presented at camp and the application to their lives.
