Meet Will and Emma Powell

“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The Lord is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’ The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”

We joyfully echo the cry of Jeremiah when he declared that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases! After just a few short months, we are deeply grateful to announce that Will Powell has accepted the position of High School Director and will begin ministering to our students this summer!

Will and his wife, Emma, were married in December and are currently living in Santa Clarita, CA where they have been students at The Master’s University. Will is currently serving as the High School Intern at Grace Baptist Church and will be attending The Master’s Seminary this fall. Will has cultivated an excellent reputation, has demonstrated significant ability in caring for and discipling students and comes high recommended for this position by those who know him and who have served alongside him. Emma has been serving alongside him at Grace Baptist in Junior High Ministry and is currently teaching Chemistry and Physics at Heritage Christian School. The Powells are eager to join us here in Simi Valley and we are thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness in adding Will to the church staff in the coming months.

Marshall Walter is the Executive Pastor at Grace Church of Simi Valley. Marshall first visited Grace Church in December of 2000, but didn’t start attending regularly until he and his wife, Beka, started dating in the fall of 2001. After completing his degree from The Master’s College in 2004, Marshall spent a number of years as a teacher at Grace Brethren School, before joining the Pastoral Staff of Grace Church in the summer of 2009.

As Executive Pastor, Marshall aspires to serve the Elders and Staff as they strive to implement the mission of the church and become more effective at Shepherding, Equipping, and Sending. Marshall and Beka have two children, Kay and Ben. The Walter Family is excited to continue ministering at Grace Church for the foreseeable future and can’t wait to see what God does here next!
