Preparing for Christmas Worship, 12/13/15

by Josh Starkey on December 10, 2015

Hey folks,

We started our Christmas worship this past Sunday. This Christmas season, we'll keep singing Christmas carols all month, and we'll keep you posted here about what's coming up in our services. The Christmas or Advent period of the church calendar is so rich, and we have such a great time as a church exulting in the appearance of our Savior to come and bear all our sins, but also to freshly anticipate our Savior's second coming as King. Even in the songs of anticipation for Christ's first appearance, we can sing and anticipate His second coming. This sense of "allready but not yet" anticipation and waiting is key to the Christian life, and the Advent season is a chance to realign our spiritual compass to "set our minds on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God" (Col. 3:2).

This week, we'll continue our "Redeeming Relationships" series, and we'll sing the following carols together.

1. He Shall Reign Forevermore (new song we intro'd last week!)

2. The First Noel

3. What Child is This

4. Who Would Have Dreamed

5. O Come All Ye Faithful

Hope to see you Sunday morning! Services at 8:30 and 10:30 AM. Also, mark your calendar for our Christmas Eve worship gathering, 12/24 at 6:00 PM.
